Romeo and Juliet

Image
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare My rating: 4 of 5 stars "These violent delights have violent ends And in their triumph die, like fire and powder, Which, as they kiss, consume." This is a good romantic comedy about two privileged teenage dumb-dumbs whose families are civil menaces falling in love with each other, marrying the next day, and causing the deaths of themselves and several bystanders. Love Story

Image
Love Story by Erich Segal My rating: 3 of 5 stars The OG A Walk to Remember ... It is not a great book, but it does succeed in tugging at the heartstrings despite its frivolity. I think "Love means not ever having to say you're sorry" is a pretty toxic and stupid sentiment, but I choose to interpret it as love means knowing how sorry a person is even when they haven't said so and being able to forgive them even when they don't deserve it. ❧ View all my Goodreads reviews.

Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 4 by Bisco Hatori My rating: 4 of 5 stars The Alice in Wonderland chapter was much better than the anime episode. ❧ View all my Goodreads "reviews."

The Last Unicorn

Image
The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle My rating: 5 of 5 stars "Then she would run until morning to ease the ache; swifter than rain, swift as loss, racing to catch up with the time when she had known nothing at all but the sweetness of being herself." This book is so achingly beautiful. It is a wonderful fairy tale in its own right and is a lovely homage to all the fairy tales that came before it. ❧ View all my Goodreads reviews.
