Wishful Drinking

Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher My rating: 4 of 5 stars Who better to drag me out of a bit of a reading rut than one of my heroes? The dearly departed Carrie Fisher, who tragically left us when she was drowned by the moonlight and strangled by her own bra, has always been an inspiration to me. Maybe her life itself should not be held up as an example to be emulated, but the unabashed, courageous, and humorous way she openly admitted and addressed her issues has always made her—at least, in my opinion—one of the bravest saints ever to be martyred by the monster called mental illness. I love her, and I am so grateful for her. This book felt erratic and darkly hilarious, and it was all I hoped it would be. My only complaint was that it was too short, but unfortunately, that is also appropriately symbolic of Carrie's time with us. ❧ View all my Goodreads reviews.
