Favorite Quotes Shuffle [Read, Refresh, Repeat]

Tooth and Claw

Image
Tooth and Claw by Jo Walton My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book was so much fun! My favorite thing had nothing to do with the quality of the book itself; I just loved being able to say nonsensical things to my spouse during the reading process (e.g. "Things are going down in Dragontown!" and "That rotten dragon-in-law has cheated his family out of their rightful inheritance!" and "It seems terribly difficult for gently born dragons to avoid social scandal."). That ending was *chef's kiss* perfection . ❧ View all my Goodreads "reviews."

Ellin's Solhwa

Ellin's Solhwa, Season 1 by Cibeles My rating: 4 of 5 stars This is actually my second time reading Ellin's Solhwa within a couple of months, but the first time around, I had qualms about logging a webcomic as a "book." I realize now I was just being silly—it's no different than any logging any other graphic novel, manga, or manhwa. For heaven's sake, Lore Olympus just won the Goodreads Choice Award for Graphic Novels & Comics, so what more evidence do I need of the legitimacy of webcomics as a published format? Anyway, Ellin's Solhwa is such a good and beautiful story. I think it deserves every bit of publicity it can get because I wish it would get so popular that I could buy it in tactile, printed form. I love how the author transformed what could have easily been a stereotypically clichéd love story into a tale of taking charge of one's own life and moving past grief and regrets. ❧ View all my Goodreads reviews.
